Family Support

When your child enters kindergarten, the IEP team may inclued a regular education teacher as well as the therapists and specialists. To help you understand how the educational process works and your rights, you can contact your local parent information and training organization in your state:

MPACT is a statewide parent training and information center whose mission is to ensure that all children with special needs receive an education that allows them to schieve their personal goals. It is important to build a network of support for your family. This can include extened family memebers, personal friends, and professionals who work with parents who have a child with a developmental disability.
